Pupwise is a puppy training app with a clicker, a whistle and a potty log you share with your household. If something didn't sync, a reminder didn't fire, or you're not sure how something works, this page should help.
Pupwise gives training guidance, not veterinary advice. If your dog bites, guards or panics, start with your vet or a certified behavior professional. For health worries, contact your vet.
Common questions
My partner can't see my entries.
Sharing goes through iCloud, so both phones need to be signed in to iCloud. Open Family in Pupwise and check that your partner is listed and has accepted the invitation. New entries usually appear within a minute; if a phone was offline, they arrive when it reconnects. Nothing logged offline is lost — it's saved on the phone first and merges when it's back online.
Does our sitter or dog walker need an iPhone?
To log, yes — sharing works between Apple Accounts (iPhone or Apple Watch). For someone without one, send the care sheet PDF or a spreadsheet (CSV) from Pupwise.
Do I have to pay to use the clicker or keep logging?
No, and you never will. The clicker, the whistle, every log type, unlimited history, multiple dogs, sharing, reminders, widgets, the Apple Watch app and Week 1 of the training plan work without Premium. Premium adds the full plan of about 80 lessons, potty insights, the socialization program and the sitter and trainer reports. If Premium ends, everything you logged stays yours.
Why doesn't Pupwise have a silent dog whistle?
iPhone speakers can't play sounds high enough to be silent to people, so apps that promise one usually play nothing your dog can hear either. Pupwise plays an audible pea-whistle tone instead. What makes a whistle work is that the same sound always means the same thing; the Whistle recall lesson shows you how to teach it.
The clicker in Control Center doesn't make a sound.
Check that your iPhone's media volume is up. The clicker plays even when your iPhone is on Silent, at the same volume as music and videos.
A potty reminder didn't go off.
In Settings → Notifications → Pupwise, make sure notifications are allowed, and check the quiet hours in Pupwise's reminder settings. On iOS 26 you can turn on the night alarm, which rings even when your iPhone is on Silent; on earlier iOS versions night reminders arrive as time-sensitive notifications.
How does Pupwise predict the next potty trip?
With simple arithmetic on your phone: how long your dog usually goes after waking, eating, playing and the last pee, over the last 7 days you logged. It's labeled as an estimate, and it gets better the more you log.
How do I share Premium with my household?
If you use Apple's Family Sharing, Premium is shared with your family group. Others in the group can tap Restore Purchases in Pupwise's Settings.
